Your legend

Your legend is never played. It's in its spot when the game starts and stays there to the end: nothing can kill it or move it. What it does is its ability, and that works all game.

Many legends have an activated ability. says "1 Energy, : Play a 1 unit token." Pay 1 Energy and exhaust the , and you get a . It readies with everything else at the start of your turn, so you can do it once a turn. Like any activated ability, it goes on the chain and your opponent can answer it.

Other legends have text that's just true, or that happens at a set time, like drawing you a card at the start of your turn when you have one card in hand or none.

Your champion

Your chosen champion starts the game in the spot beside your legend. It waits there, face up, and you can play it from there whenever you could play it from your hand, paying its cost as usual. That spot is your .

It's like a card in your hand that's always there, and that your opponent can always see. Once you play it, it's a unit like any other. If it dies, it goes to your trash, not back to the champion zone.

The other copies of your champion in your main deck are drawn and played like any other card. They still count as your chosen champion, for cards that care.
