3. Battlefields
Moving
Sending your units out to battlefields, and bringing them home
Units are played to your base, but points are won at battlefields. To get a unit from one to the other, exhaust it, and it goes from your base to a battlefield, or from a battlefield back to your base. That's how you a unit.
Exhausting it is the whole cost. No runes, and nothing goes on the chain, so your opponent can't answer a move. It just happens.
When you can move
- In your main phase, with nothing on the chain. Not on your opponent's turn, and not while a battlefield is being fought over.
- Once a turn for each unit, as moving exhausts it. A unit you played this turn arrived exhausted, so it can't move until your next turn.
- Several units at once, as long as they all go to the same place. They can come from different places: one from your base and one from a battlefield can move to the other battlefield together.
Where you can move
From your base to a battlefield, or from a battlefield to your base. Not from one battlefield straight to the other.

A few units can. says "Ganking (I can move from battlefield to battlefield.)" A unit with can still do everything other units can, and it can also skip the trip home.
Moving onto a battlefield you already have starts nothing: your unit is just there now, helping you keep it. Moving onto one you don't have is how fights start, and the next pages cover them.
Try it
Move two units together, move a unit with Ganking between battlefields, and see who can't move.
